Cupcakes Dresses for Glitz Pageants
Cupcakes Dresses are not Cheap when you get them custom made however you can find cheap and still in good condition cupcakes on Facebook via pageant resale pages. Custom Cupcake dresses can cost ££££ but by the time the dress has hit the 3rd or 4th owner the dress can cost up to £££.
When purchasing dresses from pre-owners please be carefull that the dress has been well looked after and they are not scamming you as many pageant parents in America especially ripping off newbies on dresses so make sure you ask for tracking numbers.
Everyone says for a winning dress you pay ££££ for it but its not so true dresses dont always have to be bought fully Rhine-stoned for ££££ you can order a cheap cupcake dress from EBAY and Rhinestone it your feel and you can save a lot of money. Or if you dont want a to rhinestone the dress you can always buy a full glitz from a designer or again via Facebook pageant resale but make sure that you ask for up close images of the dress so you can double check that the rhinestones have been glued in a straight line, that they are not from the Pound shop, the dress looks high quality, the trims and pattern are stitched well as many people will say this dress was worn on "Toddlers and Tiaras" or The design has made any dresses for "Toddlers and Tiaras" because just because it has been on T&T it doesn't mean its good.
Most people invest in a dress and use it for 2-3 years. Don't feel like you need a new dress every 6 months!
If you are not wanting to spend that kind of money there are a few options out there.
1. Buy a cupcake shell and decorate it yourself - be careful with sizing, as these are from China and can run really huge. I strongly recommend getting a 2 piece shell. Ask for measurements. A 2T might fit more like a 4-5. Most commonly found on ebay, some pages on facebook. Usually run £80-£100+. When decorating, I really recommend getting some nice appliques and good stones, rather than using stuff from the pound shop.
2. Cheaper local level cupcakes can be found at places like Pageant shops online. These look gorgeous on stage and are good quality. Again, be wary of sizing because they tend to fit big.
Cupcake Skirts -
There are 2 types - the classic skirt and the southern skirt. The southern skirt is really not 'in' anymore and if you find a dress with this it has probably been around for a while. You can have any type you wish, just be wary of giving someone big ££ for a southern skirt dress, as it is not the 'in style'. No points will be taken off for a southern skirt - some really prefer this skirt type, and you can find some good bargains on dresses out there with this skirt because its not the classic cupcake you see most of the time.
